The
Towns at Elba Island
The bay of Marciana Marina has a little dock with a round stone
tower, called "pisana" or "medicea", because it was built by the
inhabitants of Pisa in the 11th century in order to
defend it from Turks; later the tower belonged to Medici. It is
one of the most famous resorts in the Island thanks to its
equipped marina, its wonderful promenade, decorated by
tamarisks, its gardens and its typical Mediterranean flora.
