The
Towns at Elba Island
Rio Marina is the 2nd biggest marina in Elba, reachable from
Piombino in only 40 minutes. Rio Marina is in the mining area of
the Island, characterized by the reddish colour of the iron
oxide, which dyes the mounts, and by the erosions of the
open-cut mines. Worth seeing in the centre is S. Rocco oratory,
built by the prince of Piombino in the 16th century. .
