The
Towns at Elba Island
Rio nell'Elba is an old medieval village, clinging to a hill
about 178 m above sea level. It is one of the richest village in
history and traditions in the Island. Since the prehistory, it
was an important mining area. The little square of Santa Trinita
church (11th century), S. Giacomo fortress, the centre with its
typical alleys and the old public wash houses are very
interesting
